Remembering the old days when we use to have English exams during our midterms and one section of it would definitely have this question "Write an essay about 200-500 words on the below-mentioned topics" with "Indian Festivals" as one of it. Today as we are on the second day of it, I am starting my own blog and hope you all like it.
India is land of festivals as we know but there are different sorts of theories/beliefs associated with all the festivals and we will discuss "Diwali" today.
The 5 days long festivals start with a lot of preparations and planning at least 1 month beforehand and on completion, we see lots of snacks, sweets, cleaning, decorations and purchase happening everywhere.
Coming back to the belief or I would like to call it a theory of "Why we celebrate Diwali?" has some regional faiths involved, many of the people in Northern part of India say that on this day "Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after defeating the demon Ravana with lightning the clay lanterns on his way back as part of celebration, so in every household in India clay diyas are lighted during Deepavali" while some of them in south say Lord Krishna killed the demon Narkasura. Now which one to trust or keep faith in is up to my readers which are you all reading my first post on Narakchaturdashi.
Keeping this post short purposely as you all will be busy with Diwali celebrations.
